In the declaration they condemned Sin Yong Chol, justice of the Supreme Court, for forcing judges to declare the detained participants in the candle-light actions guilty.

They could not repress resentment at the reckless practice of the justice of the Supreme Court staging trials as instructed by the present regime by abusing power, they noted.

Holding that Sin should be punished, they urged the south Korean National Assembly to immediately advance "a motion" calling for the impeachment of him.

Noting that similar cases are bound to occur in the future unless a fundamental reform is carried out in the court, they demanded a fair judgment of the above-said participants.
