The statement said that the adoption of the joint declaration opened up the June 15 era of reunification in which the movement for Korea's reunification advances along the track of national independence, a new era for achieving the independent reunification through reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south of Korea.

After the publication of the declaration antagonism and confrontation between the north and the south turned into the relations of dialogue, cooperation and exchange, it noted.

It further said:

The history of the reunification movement in the Korean Peninsula proves the truth that the relations between the north and the south can advance in a reunification-oriented manner to meet the interests of the nation when they respect and faithfully implement the joint declaration in the spirit of "By our nation itself".

But the present south Korean authorities are staging with the U.S. joint military exercises aimed at all-out attack on the DPRK and driving the inter-Korean relations into confrontation.

I am firmly convinced that Korea's reunification, the cherished desire of the nation, will be realized without fail when all Koreans sincerely implement the June 15 joint declaration.
