Pyongyang, June 13 (KCNA) -- Cuautemoc Amezcua Dromundo, first secretary of the C.C., the Socialist Popular Party of Mexico, issued a statement on June 5 on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The statement said that the 45 year-long history of Kim Jong Il's leadership over the WPK is shining as a heroic epic in which he laid a solid foundation for the socialist development in the DPRK and ushered in the glorious history of defending the country and building a great prosperous and powerful nation under the banner of Songun, an invincible treasured sword, by carrying forward the revolutionary idea and immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea and eternal leader of the Korean people.
Under his leadership the WPK has always emerged victorious as the organizer and guide of all victories of the Korean people and the general staff of the Songun revolution and the Korean People's Army has displayed its might as the invincible army of Mt. Paektu, it noted.
It referred to the fact that Kim Jong Il has consolidated the single-minded unity of the Korean society in every way.
It stressed that the Korean people would frustrate the imperialist forces' challenge and offensive with the might of the single-minded unity stronger than nuclear weapons and fling open the gate to a thriving nation in 2012 marking the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung.
