The products made with advanced metal surface treatment technology developed by researchers of the Central Machine Designing Institute under the Ministry of Machine-Building Industry are applied to many fields including metal processing and machine-building.

In order to meet the requirements of the reality in which the metal surface treatment technology is applied to more and more fields, the research team has developed new technology of making surface treatment matters of various uses with local materials and has applied it to practice.

The Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, the Taean Heavy Machine Complex, the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex and various other units have introduced the technology, with result that they have improved the mechanical character of facilities and considerably reduced the production cost.

Noteworthy is it that a factory removed the intermediate heat treatment process and raised the overall production efficiency by introducing the technology.

Many units in the mining industry applied the technology to crank bush of oxygen compressor, the main shaft bush of excavator and machine parts, thus economizing plenty of nonferrous metals and extending their serviceable life far more.

The economic effectiveness of the metal surface treatment technology is growing in the course of its application.
