The statement accused the UNSC of adopting "Resolution 1874" over the DPRK's second nuclear test.

It is quite natural for anyone to take self-defensive measures in the event the sovereignty and dignity of one's country are threatened, the statement said, adding that intolerable are the high-handed and arbitrary practices of the U.S. and its followers to force a country to fall victim to them for the mere reason that its ideology and system are different from theirs and it is small in its territory and population.

The statement noted that the confederation regarded all measures taken by the DPRK as just and aboveboard ones and fully supported them.

Cha Sang Bo, vice-chairman of the General Association of Koreans in China, in his statement issued on June 17 denounced the UNSC's "resolution on sanctions" as an act of wantonly violating the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK and expressed his support to the statement of the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs which solemnly declared that the DPRK would take counter-measures to defend the dignity of the nation and the sovereignty of the country.

The statement declared that the association would wage a more dynamic struggle to smash the moves of the U.S. imperialists and their followers to stifle the DPRK and provoke a nuclear war against it, true to General Secretary Kim Jong Il's Songun politics.
