Information Workers of Trade Union Organizations Tour Area of Mt. Paektu

Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Information workers of primary organizations under the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea from across the country made a study tour of revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu between June 12 and 17. They laid floral baskets and flowers before the statues of President Kim Il Sung standing at the Victorious Battle Pochonbo Memorial Tower, in the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, on the shore of Lake Samji, at the Monument to Victory in Battles in Musan Area and in the Chongbong Bivouac and before the mosaic depicting the peerlessly great persons standing in the Secret Camp of Mt. Paektu and paid tribute to them. Upon arriving in Pochonbo from Hyesan, they visited the Pochonbo Revolutionary Museum and went round the Command Post of the Pochonbo Battle, the Police Post and the Sub-county Office of the Japanese imperialists at that time, and other places. Then they toured Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs before reaching Lake Samji. After being briefed on the Samjiyon Grand Monument, they went round the groups of sculptures of subsidiary theme and the Samjiyon Revolutionary Museum and then the township of Samjiyon whose appearance has changed beyond recognition. When they arrived at the Monument to Victory in Battles in Musan Area, they looked round the large group of sculptures in relievo of subsidiary theme with the bronze sculpture of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine, the tower of a rifle, etc., being briefed on the monument and visited the Sinsadong Revolutionary Battle Site. They visited the Secret Camp of Mt. Paektu, the holy site of revolution. During the study tour, they conducted colorful political and cultural activities. |
