The championship brought together over 700 players selected from Taekwon-Do teams and at least 10 units including schoolchildren's palaces and halls. Players will compete in Taekwon-Do, Paduk and Korean wrestling games.

Hwang Pong Yong, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, said in an opening speech called on all the players to fully display strong metal power and technology they have acquired in their day-to-day trainings at the championship and thus achieve good results and contribute to the development of the nation's martial arts technique.

Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, was present at the opening ceremony.
