A music and dance performance was given by artistes of the Mansudae Art Troupe at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre while a concert by artistes of the State Symphony Orchestra at the Moranbong Theatre.

The State Folk Art Troupe gave an art performance at the Central Youth Hall and the orchestra of the Yun I Sang Music Institute at the Yun I Sang Concert Hall.

Put on the stage were such colorful numbers as female solo and chorus "Song Devoted to Comrade Kim Jong Il", orchestras "General on a Galloping White Horse" and "Thunder on Jong Il Peak", male solo "May the Era of Workers' Party Prosper" and cello concert "We Started from Scratch".

The performers sang high praises of the undying feats performed by Kim Jong Il who created the noble history of building a revolutionary party in the era of independence and is leading the cause of building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation to victory under the uplifted banner of Songun with his great idea and extraordinary leadership.

Narrative pieces and acrobatic performance given by the State Theatrical Troupe and the Pyongyang Circus gave revolutionary optimism and pleasure to the people in the capital city celebrating the significant day.

Similar performances were also given at theatres in local areas such as Jagang, North Hamgyong, Kangwon and South Phyongan provinces.

Art performances were also given by the art squad of the Central Committee of the youth league and by art groups at the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace.
