Lee Myung Bak Group Flayed for Environmental Destruction in S. Korea

Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- At least 450 civic and public organizations, including the Green Federation and the Confederation of Trade Unions, and four religious orders and opposition parties in south Korea inaugurated an "all-people measure committee for checking the project of destroying four large rivers and protecting them for life" on June 18 in protest against the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' environmental destruction moves.

A press conference was called in Seoul to declare the formation of the measure committee.

Speakers there charged that the Lee Myung Bak "government" is pushing forward the project for "adjusting four large rivers" with investment of an astronomical amount of funds, not content with having stamped out democracy and revived the fascist dictatorship.

They said that people from all walks of life declare to turn out in the struggle against the Lee "government's" unpopular rule after inaugurating the said solidarity organization, irrespective of ideology, affiliation, political parties and religious beliefs.

The formation of the measure committee is the start of the struggle for punishing the Lee "government", they said, stressing that the organization would hold a large-scale rally and conduct one-million signature campaign, etc.

Contending that only when the present "government" is forced to step down is it possible to protect the natural environment and the people's vital right, they called upon the people from all walks of life to vigorously turn out in the struggle for punishing Lee Myung Bak who reigns over the people.
