Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The United States invited traitor Lee Myung Bak to the White House recently and clarified in a document that it would provide south Korea with "extended nuclear deterrence" including a "nuclear umbrella". Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard: The promise made by the U.S. to provide a "nuclear umbrella" to its "allies" is, in essence, a theory of preemptive nuclear attack. Lurking behind the U.S. promise to provide a "nuclear umbrella" to south Korea is a criminal scenario to spark a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula on a legitimate basis. The moves of the U.S. bellicose forces to tighten the nuclear conspiracy and nexus with south Korea suggest that they are keen to drive its puppets into military provocations against the DPRK and launch an all-out nuclear war on the peninsula at any cost, availing themselves of the opportunity. The U.S. chief executive was so brazen-faced as to utter that he was "repeatedly urging north Korea to make efforts for non-proliferation" when talking about the offer of "extended nuclear deterrence" to south Korea. It is a brigandish logic for the U.S. to urge the DPRK to dismantle its nukes despite its advocacy of the theory of preemptive nuclear attack, while talking about the provision of a "nuclear umbrella" to south Korea. The DPRK was entirely right when it conducted nuclear tests and bolstered up nuclear deterrent for self-defence in order to cope with the moves frantically stepped up by the U.S. for a nuclear war while providing for years a guarantee for the offer of a "nuclear umbrella" to south Korea. The U.S. would be well advised to properly approach the DPRK as it has emerged a full-fledged nuclear weapons state. The U.S. is seriously mistaken if it calculates it can go safe after starting a war on the Korean Peninsula in disregard of the hard reality. |
