The statement noted that Kim Jong Il put forward the revolutionary philosophy of single-minded unity and achieved the unity in mind of the whole society around the leader and, with the might of this unity, has led the revolution and construction in socialist Korea to victory.

Under his guidance Juche Korea has won one victory after another undauntedly despite of the imperialists' challenges and manifold trials and greeted the heyday of building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation, it said.

It stressed that the undying feats of Kim Jong Il would shine forever as he strengthened Kim Il Sung's Korea dignified with the Songun politics into an invincible socialist stronghold, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, and has wisely led the just cause of humankind for independence against imperialism and for global peace.
