Over the past more than five decades of art creation she has created more than 100 dance pieces based on the idea and theory of Juche-oriented literature and art and energetically conducted performing activities, encouraging servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and people of the DPRK in their struggle to defend the country and build socialism and making a contribution to the development of the nation's dance art.

In this period, she had the honor of receiving Kim Il Sung Prize and People's Actress loved by the army and people.

A dance presentation was arranged to mark her 70th birthday.

Appreciating the presentation of Hong Jong Hwa and other dancers were officials, creators, artistes, teachers, researchers and students in the fields of culture and arts.

Hong's repertoire included solo dance "Ecstasy," folk dance "Trio Dance" and duet dance "A shepherd boy and a girl" which she performed in the past, delighting President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and won golden medals at world youth and students' festivals and other numbers. She was highly acclaimed by the audience for her smooth and pleasant dance movements and cheerful and dynamic rhythms.
