The Switzerland-Korea Committee in its statement on June 14 said that the adoption of the joint declaration brought about the historic era of "By our nation itself," an era of detente and cooperation between the north and the south of Korea.

The Korean Friendship Association headquartered in Spain in its statement on June 11 said: We are convinced that Korea's reunification will be realized without fail under the wise leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il though temporary difficulties may lie in the struggle of the Korean people advancing under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself".

Vishwanath, director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, in his statement on June 10 noted that the reunification movement of Korea has been put at the worst crisis, in which the north-south relations were totally bedeviled and are headed for the extreme confrontation, since the Lee Myung Bak "government" in south Korea denied the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and refused to implement them. The world peace-loving people hope that the Korean people would surely achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration, the statement said.
