Veredin, secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of Soviet Union, said at a meeting that Kim Jong Il's start of work at the C.C., WPK was a historic event not only for the Korean people but also for the world progressive humankind.

He stressed that Kim Jong Il has consistently embodied the Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung and pursued the original Songun politics on the basis of scientific penetration into the changed international situation, thus further consolidating the ideological foundation of the WPK.

Juzef Lachut, chairman of the National Executive Committee of the Polish Communist Party, said at a meeting that the successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong-2 was an exercise of the legitimate independent right of a sovereign state and one more signal achievement made by the DPRK in the development of science and technology.
