The sports contest brought together at least 1,500 sportspersons selected from different provinces.

The contest produced ace players in various events and registered successes conductive to developing the nation's sports technique.

Players from South Hamgyong Province came first in the team standing while players from North Phyongan Province proved successful in women's basketball and men's table tennis and other events and those from North Hamgyong Province gave a good account themselves in men's football.
