Present at the mass rallies were leading officials of the local party and power organs, working people's organizations, people from all walks of life and youth and students.

Speakers said at the rallies that the U.S. ignited a war of aggression to destroy the young DPRK in its cradle on June 25, 1950 and hurled into it huge armed forces equipped with modern weapons, the south Korean puppet army and mercenaries of its 15 satellite countries, reducing everything on this land to ashes and killing Koreans in cold-blood.

The army and people of the DPRK under the wise commandership of Kim Il Sung defeated the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces which boasted of being the "strongest" in the world, honorably protecting the sovereignty of the nation and the gains of the revolution and fully demonstrating the invincible might of the heroic Korean people, they said, and went on:

Instead of drawing a lesson from the defeat the U.S. sustained in the last Korean war, it has persistently pursued its hostile policy towards the DPRK for more than half a century and seriously threatened peace and security on the Korean Peninsula. The U.S. has become evermore frantic in its moves to ignite a new war.

At the present stage where the army and people of the DPRK are standing in all-out confrontation with the U.S. they will counter "sanctions" with retaliation and all-out war with all-out war in order to protect the dignity of the nation and the sovereignty of the country.

They called for bringing about miracles and innovations in the drive to build a great prosperous and powerful nation in the 150-day campaign, holding high the torches for effecting a new great revolutionary surge, true to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il, and carrying on the vigorous struggle to achieve a final victory in the anti-U.S. confrontation.
