Ri Kwang Ho Dies
Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Ri Kwang Ho, former director of the Department of Science and Education of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, died of hepatoma at the age of 50 Friday.

His obituary was issued by the C.C., the WPK and the Presidium of the SPA of the DPRK Friday.

According to the obituary, Ri was a revolutionary who remained faithful to the WPK as he devoted his all to the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche true to the leadership of the party and the leader.

Ri dedicated all his wisdom and energy to developing the country's science and technology working as vice-president and president of the State Academy of Sciences for years. He made a great contribution to thoroughly implementing the party's policy of science and education and effecting a signal turn in building a thriving nation holding the important post of director of the above-said department in recent years.

He was elected deputy to the SPA since the 10th SPA in Juche 87 (1998) and received lots of official commendation including the Order of the National Flag 1st Class in recognition of his services for the homeland and the revolution.

The feats performed by him before the party and the revolution, the country and the people will remain long, the obituary said.
