Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The Teachers Union in south Korea called an emergency press conference in Yongdungpho, Seoul, on June 26, declaring that it would turn out in the second campaign of announcing the declaration on the situation to protest the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' reckless repression. Speakers at the conference charged that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology decided to discipline the teachers affiliated who took part in the campaign for declaration on the situation protesting the Lee regime's dictatorial policy. The declaration on the situation made public by the union is the strong voice of the teachers demanding the democratization of society, guarantee of people's basic rights and repeal of wrong education policy, they stressed. Nevertheless, the authorities are seeking to punish the teachers and such repression is evidently a sinister deed designed to check the people's expression of will and quell their resentment, they pointed out, stating that all the teachers would brave any sacrifice. Saying that they can never overlook the fact that the ministry is violating even the basic rights of the people and cracking down upon the teachers by abusing authority, they declared that the union would fight to the last to achieve democracy together with the people. |
