Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- A meeting, a film show and an art performance took place in Peru, a reading session and a lecture in Mali and film shows in Russia and Ukraine between June 17 and 19 to commemorate the 45th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 9th publication anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration.
The chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru said at the meeting that all spectacular achievements made by the Korean people are attributable to the outstanding leadership of Kim Jong Il who has successfully carried forward the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung while working long at the WPK Central Committee.
The secretary general of the Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea said it is an epoch-making event in the movement for Korea's reunification that the inter-Korean summit was provided for the first time after the national division and the June 15 joint declaration adopted thanks to Kim Jong Il. We fully support the Korean people in the struggle to achieve national reunification under the banner of the joint declaration, he added.
The principal of a school in Mali said that 45 years of Kim Jong Il's leadership over the WPK are the immortal history during which he performed enormous feats for the Korean people and progressive humankind with his extraordinary political caliber. He is a prominent elder statesman as he formulated the Songun politics as the basic political mode of socialism, the speaker stressed.
Appreciated at the film shows were such Korean films as "The Korean People's Army, Steel-like Ranks" and "Mt. Kuwol, Scenic Spot on West Coast".
