Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The director of the International Relations of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan made public a statement on June 16 to commemorate the 45th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The statement praised the last 45 years of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's leadership over the WPK as the history of wise guidance and great devotion in which he has led to victory the Korean people's struggle for building socialism and achieving national reunification while weathering the stern trials and difficulties and dedicated his all to the country and the people.
As they have had Kim Jong Il at the top post of the party, the state and the army, the Korean people could advance holding high the banner of socialism despite the collapse of socialist countries in Eastern Europe, the consecutive severe natural disasters and the imperialists' persistent blockade and scheme to stifle the DPRK and are now making big strides towards the rosy future of a great prosperous and powerful nation, it said.
It expressed belief that the Korean people would surely win a shining victory in the building of a thriving nation and the cause of national reunification in the near future, remaining true to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il.
