The university, instituted as the first of its kind in Korea under the warm care of President Kim Il Sung, is a reliable centre for raising talented agricultural technicians of the country.

The monument to field guidance of the President stands in the university compound covered with greenery and thick woods and it has many school buildings, graduate school, agricultural scientific research institute, practice farm, greenhouse, etc.

Displayed in its education and science exhibition hall and room devoted to conception built in a peculiar manner are lots of exhibits showing achievements made by its teachers and students in education and scientific researches in the past.

An ultra-modern soil-type pollution-free greenhouse was built for the teaching staff and students under the warm care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and hundreds of thousands of trees of more than 250 good-species constitute a thick forest. Among the trees are Wonsan Sciadotitys verticillata, zelkova tree, Picea Koraiensis and juniper tree.

He visited the university twice this year alone.

He highly appreciated the feats performed by the university, saying that over the last more than 60 years it has produced many able scientists and technicians including academicians, candidate academicians, doctors and agricultural experts, thus making a great contribution to the development of the nation's agriculture.

The university is registering big achievements in education and scientific researches so as to support with science and technology the Korean people in their vigorous strivings for building a great, prosperous and powerful socialist nation under the uplifted torch of a new revolutionary great upsurge.
