Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- At least 230 cartoonists of south Korea issued a declaration on the situation on July 2 in protest against the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' unpopular rule. It deplored that democracy has been violated in south Korean society and economy has gone totally bankrupt. Lee Myung Bak and other ruling conservative forces should know clearly what judgment of history those dictators keen on pursuing undemocratic policies met, it warned. It stressed that positive efforts would be made to build a society where the people become its master. More than 260 artists, persons of literature and critics affiliated to the "Society of Juvenile Book Writers of Dreaming of a Better World" also issued a declaration on the situation on the same day in the very place where evacuees in Ryongsan of Seoul met tragic deaths. In the declaration they urged the authorities to stop at once the forcible evacuation in Ryongsan and unconditionally accept the demands of the All-People Measure Committee against the Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan and the bereaved families of the victims. They demanded Lee Myung Bak and the "Grand National Party" make an apology to the people, stop the moves to adopt the unpopular "Lee Myung Bak evil laws" and halt the unreasonable suppression of teachers affiliated to the Teachers Union. |
