The Posan Iron Works of the Chollima Steel Complex overfulfilled the every monthly production quota of Juche iron and turned out the Juche iron nearly three times in June in comparison with the corresponding period of the year before.

The Chongjin Steel Works completed the construction of a new shaft furnace which is of great significance in the production of the Juche iron.

The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex restructured the production processes to increase the steel output by 50 percent.

Thermal power plants in different parts of the country increased the electricity production in the first half of the year by hundreds of millions of kilowatts as against the same period of the previous year.
