DPRK's Significant Days Celebrated in Different Countries

Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Meetings took place in Pakistan and Tunisia, lectures, reading sessions and film shows in Peru, Spain and Nigeria and a book exhibition in Ethiopia between June 13 and 19 on the occasions of the 45th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 9th anniversary of publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Displayed at the book exhibition were works of Kim Jong Il and books introducing Songun Korea.

Akrak Aktar Hamidi, chairman of the Pakistan Association for Self-Reliance Studies, in his speech highly praised the immortal exploits performed by Kim Jong Il for the strengthening and development of the WPK and stressed that the Korean people wisely led by him would certainly realize the reunification of the country and the cause of building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation.

Victor Oliva Miguel, general secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party of Peru, said in a lecture that Kim Jong Il's start of work at the WPK Central Committee 45 years ago was a historic event in carrying forward to completion the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by President Kim Il Sung.

Thanks to the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, Korea will be reunified without fail, he said, declaring that they would fully support the Korean people's just struggle for national reunification.

Appreciated at the film shows were such Korean films as "The Kumsusan Memorial Palace" and "The Reply of the DPRK".

A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting held in Pakistan.
