The goal and the ideological basis of the great national unity and the principles and ways for achieving unity laid down in this programme serve as a banner for uniting all Koreans as one under the banner of reunification, the article says, and goes on:

The programme clearly indicates principled requirements, orientation and ways for making all Koreans a driving force for accomplishing the cause of national independence, the cause of national reunification, and increasing their role and successfully waging the movement for national reunification. Herein lies a source of the magnetic power and tremendous vitality of the idea of great national unity expounded by the President.

The conception and idea of great national unity put forward by him and his love for the people and the nation have served as a source of strength that encouraged the Koreans from all walks of life to turn out in the struggle for national unity and reunification.

Inspired by his leadership replete with ardent patriotism, patriotic forces for reunification have rapidly grown in the north and the south and abroad and there have emerged a powerful independent driving force for national reunification as all the Koreans desirous of reunification are united under the banner of great national unity.

A principle of independence has been firmly established in the movement for national reunification and there emerged a nation-wide front embracing all Koreans in the north and the south and abroad and forces for national independence and reunification are waging a dynamic movement for national reunification, prevailing over the separatist forces inside and outside south Korea. This was entirely the brilliant fruition of the President's all-embracing patriotic politics and leadership over the movement for national reunification.
