Tribute to Kim Hyong Jik Paid
Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Wreathes were laid before the statue of Kim Hyong Jik, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement in Korea, in Ponghwa-ri, Kangdong County of Pyongyang and his grave in Mangyongdae on Friday on the occasion of his 115th birth anniversary.

Seen there were wreathes from Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Kim Yong Nam, Ri Yong Mu and others, officials of party, power and armed forces organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions and servicepersons and working people and school youth and children in the city of Pyongyang.

Placed before the statue and grave were wreathes in the name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, the DPRK Cabinet and ministries, national institutions and scientific, educational, cultural and art and health organs, military universities and party and power organs, enterprises, farms and schools in Pyongyang.

The participants paid a silent tribute to Kim Hyong Jik, looking back on the brilliant revolutionary career and exploits performed by him who brought about the dawn of the Korean revolution with ardent patriotism and devoted his all to the sacred cause for the independence of the country and the people's freedom and liberation.

On the same day wreathes and flowers were laid before his statues at Kim Hyong Jik Military Medical University and in Sakju County, North Phyongan Province, and Junggang County, Jagang Province.
