Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held in London on June 27 under the sponsorship of the British Coordinating Committee of Friends of Korea on the occasion of the month of international solidarity with the Korean people. Attending the meeting were figures of political parties and organizations including the New Communist Party of Britain, the Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), the Revolutionary Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), the Socialist Labour Party and the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and popular masses of UK and personages of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea. Speeches were made at the meeting. Keith Bennet, deputy director-general of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, said that intensifying the movement for solidarity with the Korean people presents itself as a very important matter now that the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces have become all the more pronounced in their moves to stifle the DPRK. Andy Brooks, general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party, and Ella Rule, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), noted with appreciation that not only the DPRK but developing countries are proud of the DPRK's launch of satellite with its own efforts and technology and of its successful second nuclear test, adding that bright is the future of the world socialist movement as long as there is the DPRK. A resolution was adopted there. Slashing at the imperialists' campaign of accusation against the DPRK, the resolution dismissed the U.S. and other imperialist forces keen on nuclear blackmail and aggression as threats to the world peace and security. It called for intensifying the movement for solidarity with the Korean people in their struggle to foil the anti-DPRK moves on the part of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet clique and reunify the country. Criticizing the British government's behavior over the adoption of the UNSC's "Resolution 1874", the resolution stressed the need for various political parties and organizations to exert efforts to develop friendly relations with the Korean people. |
