Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which has been called along with the words of hero, Chollima and Juche last century, is now displaying its dignity all over the world along with the name of Songun. The world revolutionary progressives call the DPRK Songun Korea. In the 1990s, the Korean people had to endure the sorrowful demise of President Kim Il Sung and undergo trials and difficulties caused by the collapse of various socialist countries, natural disasters for consecutive years and the persistent moves of the imperialists to isolate and stifle the DPRK. Since General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited a dwarf pine tree post early on the New Year's Day of Juche 84 (1995), he has inspected one unit of the Korean People's Army after another. Under his wise leadership the KPA has been strengthened into a strong invincible revolutionary army prepared well politically, ideologically and in military technique, firmly defending socialism and creating an example in economy, culture and other realms with the might. The servicepersons have constructed the Anbyon Youth Power Station, Pyongyang-Hyangsan Sightseeing Highway, Chongryu Bridge, Kumnung Tunnel No. 2 and other grand monumental edifices and modern factories including catfish farm and chicken farm. They have thus laid a solid foundation for developing the economy at a leaping pace. The art festivals of KPA servicepersons and performances of art groups of servicemen's families have made the militant spirit and revolutionary zeal pervaded the whole society. The soldier-culture is being popularized in the country as a model of the socialist culture of life. The Songun Korea is displaying to the full its strong national power turning impossibility into possibility, misfortune into fortune and unfavorable circumstances into favorable ones in the teeth of the persistent anti-DPRK moves of the U.S. and its followers. |
