The branch has succeeded in making new distemper paints with raw materials of the country and made new vinalon fiber, precision filter matter, various medical matters, electronic matter and adhesives from intermediate product of vinalon.

It has solved scientific and technological problems for manufacturing sodium carbonate with local raw materials so as to mass-produce it and developed and introduced the technology for producing salt by an industrial method.

It has researched and introduced to production carbon, rubber and plastic materials which had been imported from foreign countries, thus making it possible to localize them.

Successes were made in inventing new dyestuffs, efficacious insecticides, herbicides and additives for poultry fodder.

It has directed much effort to the research into the ultra-modern science and technology according to the requirements of the new century, through which it has developed various nano materials and advanced chemical materials.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited the branch some time ago and highly appreciated the feats of the scientists and technicians there, saying that they had rendered distinguished services to the development of the Juche-based chemical industry.
