The general secretary of the National Guidance Council of the Vanguard Party of Indonesia, the chairman of the C.C., the Socialist Party of Bangladesh, the general secretary of the C.C., the People's Socialist Party of Mexico, the president of the Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy, the chairman of the Bulgarian Communists Union, the director-general of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea and the director for Political Affairs and International Relations of the Pan-African Movement made public congratulatory statements on the occasion of the anniversary.

A celebration preparatory committee was formed in Switzerland and a Pyongyang cultural exchange center in Colombia.

Celebrations, including meeting, seminar, lecture and round-table talks, were briskly held in different countries and regions.

Exhibitions of Korean books, photos and handicraft showing the immortal exploits performed by
Kim Jong Il in building up the Party and providing the Songun leadership and the Korean people's efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful nation successfully took place in Laos, Guinea, Nigeria, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Bulgaria and at the Secretariat of the Pan-African Movement.

Kim Jong Il's celebrated works were brought out in booklet by various publishing houses of Russia, Cambodia and Indonesia, the Joseph Gebauer Publishing House in Vienna, Austria, and the Unified Communist Party of Italy. Among them are works "The Workers' Party of Korea Is a Juche-Type Revolutionary Party Which Inherited the Glorious Tradition of the DIU", "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction" and "Giving Priority to Ideological Work Is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism".

Meanwhile, articles introducing the immortal history of Kim Jong Il's guidance over the Party were posted on Internet and carried in bulletins by the Nigerian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Egypt-Korea Friendship Association, the Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea, the U.S. Group for the Study of Songun Politics, the Peruvian Group for the Study of Kimilsungism, the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association and the Group of Youth for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea in Vienna, Austria.
