The statement praised the brilliant victory won by the Korean people in the hard-fought three-year war under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung as a very noteworthy event of the century in the history of humankind, stressing that it was a heroic example as it showed how to protect the dignity and happiness of the independent people from the imperialist aggression.

It said:

The U.S. imperialists are now sparing no efforts to provoke another aggression war in the Korean Peninsula, oblivious of the lesson of their shameful defeat and prompted by their ambition for world hegemony. But their machinations are bound to face frustration and failure by the heroic struggle of the Korean army and people who have acquired powerful nuclear deterrent under the extraordinary Songun revolutionary leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, the great brilliant commander of Songun.

Expressing the conviction that the Korean army and people will achieve greater successes in the efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation and reunify the country, the statement extended solidarity to the heroic Korean people making a history of invincibility in the struggle against imperialism and the U.S.
