The statement accused the police authorities of taking away Ri Won Gi, chairman of the south Korean Federation of University Students in the 21st Century, on July 15 from the venue of the press conference called in demand of the reduction of the university registration fee.

This is an indication that the suppression of the present "government" has reached its height, it added.

The statement lambasted the police for perpetrating violence against the students protesting against the arrest of Ri Won Gi and spraying even liquid tear gas at them.

The statement urged the Lee "government" not to brutally suppress the students but pay attention to their urgent call and immediately stop the fascist crackdown upon the above-said federation.
