Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- Members of human rights organizations in south Korea called a press conference on July 16 in Seoul to condemn the Lee Myung Bak group for its unreasonable policy for handling a personnel affair.
Speakers at the press conference asserted that the person informally designated by Lee Myung Bak as chairman of the "Human Rights Committee" is not a right person for the job as he has no career as a human rights activist.
It is obviously an act of infringing upon human rights that the authorities try to appoint only those obedient to them to official posts, they held, adding:
The post of chairman of the committee should be held by the person who strives to guarantee people human rights rather than the one chosen by a few persons of "Chongwadae" in a secret room.
The authorities would be well advised to retract the above-said action and lend an ear to the voices of people from all walks of life including the human rights organizations.
