Among them is Sariwon Art College.

Over the last 30-odd years since it was founded on November 5, Juche 64 (1975), the college has directed particular concern to instruction and edification for cultivating the musical art talent of the students in accordance with the principle of socialist pedagogy and the characteristics of art education.

It has made valuable reference books and 12,000-odd pieces of visual aids and teaching aids for education.

Many students of the college won prizes in the individual contests for February 16 art prize and the national sketch festivals celebrating February 16.

The graduates of Sariwon Art College are active in influential art troupes and art studios including the State Merited Chorus, Phibada Opera Troupe, State Folk Art Troupe and Mansudae Art Studio.
