Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were awarded to those intellectuals who have made big contributions to the scientific research and education of rising generations, true to the Songun revolutionary leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
The title of academician was conferred on Hong So Hon, president of Kim Chaek University of Technology, and professorship on Jon Il Ho, director of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Choe Sun Bong, room chief of the Mathematic Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, Son Kyong Nam, chief of the Biological Branch of the State Academy of Sciences, Kim Kyong Hak, dean of a faculty of Hamhung University of Chemical Engineering, and others.
Also doctorate was awarded to Ri Pyong Gan, a teacher of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Hui Chol, a teacher of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, Yang Song Ho, dean of a faculty of Korea University of Physical Education, Kim Jong Bong, chief of a department of Kanggye University of Education No. 1, Kim Tong Gi, a former unconverted long-term prisoner, and others and associate professorship to 53 persons.
An awarding ceremony took place on Tuesday.
