Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The Japanese authorities called a Cabinet meeting at the prime minister's residence on July 6. At this meeting they decided to take "preventive measures on the transfer of property to be helpful to the planning and activities to cope with nukes and ballistic missiles" of the DPRK and "its other WMDs" and notified all the ministries and agencies of it. On July 7 they adopted a "bill on special inspection of cargo" which legally allows the inspection of cargo of the DPRK-flagged ships and those of other countries sailing to the DPRK and submitted it to the House of Representatives. On June 18 Japan began suspending the sending of all mail to the DPRK by organs of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan at all levels, Koreans in Japan and organizations friendly toward the DPRK as a part of the additional sanctions towards the latter. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes this in a signed commentary. This action taken by the Japanese reactionaries is a revelation of the extremely hostile acts against the DPRK which can be perpetrated only by those who are steeped in bitterness towards it to the marrow of their bones and a hideous human rights abuse, the commentary notes, and goes on; The present situation eloquently proves that the Japanese reactionaries' hostile policy towards the DPRK and Chongryon has gone beyond the tolerance limit. Japan's recent measure, an escalation of its hostile policy towards the DPRK, is the most despicable and vicious one aimed at stifling and isolating the latter, binding Chongryon and Koreans in Japan hand and foot and severing their ties with the homeland. This action has put the hostile relations between the DPRK and Japan beyond the danger line. If Japan dares escalate the sanctions against the DPRK and Chongryon, it will have to pay dearly for it. This is a warning to the Japanese reactionaries going reckless, seized by the anti-DPRK hysteria. Japan had better stop the noisy racket of sanctions against the DPRK, bearing in mind that "sanctions" are bound to be entailed by retaliation, concludes the commentary. |
