He noted in the statement that President Kim Il Sung led to victory the Korean people in the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War by putting forward his original military idea and outstanding strategy and tactics.

The shining victory won by the Korean people in the sacred war against the U.S. served as an example of heroism in realizing global independence, the statement pointed out, and continued:

The U.S. imperialists are now persisting in their moves to start another war of aggression to retrieve the ignominious defeat they suffered in the last Korean war.

The recent positive measures taken by the DPRK for self-defence amount to an exercise of a legitimate right as they do not contravene any international law. We voice firm solidarity with the Korean people in their struggle to defend the sovereignty of the country.

The statement called upon all the peace-loving people in the world to firmly unite to decisively frustrate the moves of the imperialist forces for aggression and extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their heroic struggle to defend the sovereignty of the country and ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula.
