Whenever they greet this day, the army and people of Korea are recollecting with deep emotion the history when they had won a great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, smashing the myth of the U.S. imperialists' "mightiness" into smithereens.

The U.S. imperialists made desperate efforts to check the advance of a division of the People's Army with the mobilization of military forces three times greater than the KPA division's and tanks, artillery pieces and other modern military hardware five times that of the latter. But they could not save U.S. soldiers trembling with despair and fear of death locked in the "Pusan bridgehead" and sustained a miserable defeat.

The "general Christmas offensive", which was launched with the mobilization of five army corps allegedly to "put an end to the Korean war", ended in the heaviest fiasco unprecedented in the history of the U.S. army by the KPA tactics of forming the second front in the enemy's rear.

The U.S. imperialists' military and technological superiority was also impotent in the sky and the sea.

The U.S. air force, which lost twenty B-29s in air battles for a week, stopped the day flight in the sky above the areas north of Pyongyang from then.

Seamen of the KPA sank the heavy cruiser of 17,000-ton "Baltimore" and damaged a 12,000-ton light cruiser of the U.S. imperialists in the sea off Jumunjin only with four torpedo boats.

The Korean people won the brilliant victory by defeating the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world. This inspires the Korean people with the conviction in victory today when imperialism remains and the anti-imperialist confrontation continues.
