The statement branded the south Korean authorities' suppression as a grave provocation to the will of all the Korean people for reunification and national reconciliation and unity.

The south Korean authorities' illegal and criminal suppression of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon calling for peaceful reunification is contrary to the desire and will of all the Korean people to independently and peacefully reunify Korea, it noted, urging the authorities to give up such anti-reunification policy as yielding to outside forces and standing in confrontation with compatriots.

It demanded the south Korean authorities stop at once the fascist suppression of the reunification movement organizations and immediately release the illegally arrested personages of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon.

Reiterating the support for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, the statement urged the U.S. to withdraw its troops and nukes from south Korea at once.

The Finland-Korea Society in its statement on July 19 bitterly denounced the Lee group's suppression of pro-reunification patriotic forces and strongly demanded the south Korean authorities repeal the fascist "National Security Law" at once and respect the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The statement expressed full support to the progressive pro-reunification patriotic forces in south Korea in their struggle to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.
