Oliver Jonischkeit, federal secretary of the Left Bloc of the Austrian Trade Union Federation, and other speakers revealed the true colors of the U.S. imperialists as the provoker of the Korean War and noted that under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung the Korean army and people repelled the U.S. imperialists' armed invasion and achieved the brilliant victory.

They strongly demanded that the U.S. forces be withdrawn from south Korea and the Lee Myung Bak group immediately stop its crackdown upon the progressive organizations and people in the struggle for democracy of the society and the reunification of Korea and set free the arrested patriots at once.

A letter to the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea from the Federal Leadership of the Left Bloc of the Austrian Trade Union Federation was adopted at the meeting.

Pointing out that the U.S. imperialists have posed threat to peace and security of the Korean Peninsula, keeping their aggression armed forces in south Korea and conducting large-scale joint military exercises when all the Korean people are striving for peaceful reunification, the letter expressed full support for all the measures taken by the DPRK to defend the sovereignty of the country.
