Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- A candlelight rally was held in Seoul on July 25 to denounce the puppet Lee Myung Bak group of traitors for having railroaded the evil bill on media through the "National Assembly". Attending it were at least 20,000 members of organizations of all levels including the Solidarity for Progress, the Federation of Peasants Associations, the Council of Professors for Democracy, the People's Council for Public Welfare and Democracy and the Civic and Public Organizations Network for Defending Democracy and Checking Suppression under the Pretext of Security and opposition parties. Speakers at the rally recalled that the "Grand National Party" abused its power to railroad the "bill on media" through the NA by illegal "revoting" and "voting by proxy" on July 22, declaring it completely null and void and invalid. The lawmakers who took part in ramming the evil bill through the NA are no more than marionettes of plutocrats, Chosun Ilbo, Choongang Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo, they charged. They called upon all the people to fight at the cost of their lives to achieve democracy and get the evil law repealed. The "6-Point People's Declaration" released at the rally stated the participants could never recognize the above-said evil law, pointing out that the people would launch an all-people campaign to get the evil law scrapped and achieve democracy in unity. The declaration called for branding the legislators from the GNP who took the lead in railroading the evil law through NA as "arch criminal responsible for the evil law on media" and demanded they be severely punished. The declaration noted that they would take all opportunities such as the upcoming "National Assembly by-election" and "election to local assemblies" for sternly judging the treacherous regime by concerted efforts. |
