The WPK's Songun politics serves as an invincible treasured sword for successfully meeting the essential requirements for the independent development of the nation by building matchless military power, a powerful weapon for laying the most solid socio-political base for the future development of the nation and an advantageous political mode as it makes a history of creations and changes for the country's eternal prosperity and the happiness of the people.

The WPK has built up the invincible revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu and established an independent, modern and powerful defence industry for the fundamental interests of the people and the future of the nation, holding aloft the banner of Songun.

Today the DPRK can be proud of the fact that it provided a firm military guarantee for beating back any invasion by the enemies and ensuring the independent development of posterity.

It is thanks to the WPK's Songun politics that the single-minded unity of all the servicepersons and people and the great unity between the army and the people have grown a thousand times stronger at a new higher stage. The imperialists are intensifying the dastardly operations for ideological and cultural poisoning and psychological warfare to benumb the consciousness of the 3rd, 4th and 5th generations for the Korean revolution, but this is nothing but a pipe dream.

The WPK's line of economic construction in the Songun era which calls for giving priority to the development of the defence industry while simultaneously developing light industry and agriculture is a just line of economic construction which meets the requirements of the Songun politics. It is the most just line of economic construction as it makes it possible to give play to the might of the of the DPRK's economic structure with main emphasis on defence industry and heavy industry and ensure the rapid development of all other fields with it as a driving force. The validity of this line is proved with added clarity as the days go by.

The Songun politics reflects the clairvoyant wisdom of General Secretary Kim Jong Il who foresees far distant future of the country and his courageous mettle of carving out its morrow with strong faith of independence and pluck. It also reflects his personality as a great man as he has always provided rich and prosperous future, firmly believing in the army and people of the DPRK.

Songun is so deeply rooted in the minds of the servicepersons and the people that it is inseparable from socialism in the DPRK.

For the Korean people Songun means independence, dignity, future and a banner for the prosperity of the generations to come.

It is the firm faith and will of the army and people in the DPRK to wage a more dynamic struggle, true to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il, and thus bring earlier the day when the shouts of hurrah for the victory in the drive for building a great prosperous powerful nation will resound forth on this land.
