Commenting on this, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes:

This was a dangerous military confab between the two war forces.

The focus of the working consultation was the need for the U.S. to closely cooperate with Japan in the military field including the former's provision of "extended nuclear deterrence to the latter." At the consultation Japan and the U.S. decided to closely cooperate in the moves to cope with the non-existent "threat" from the DPRK in a bid to push forward the "defense cooperation" and go ahead with the realignment of the U.S. troops present in Japan as already agreed upon.

The working consultation helped create conditions for shipping more U.S. nuclear weapons and strategic offensive forces into Japan and pave the way for Japan to massively beef up its forces for aggression under the pretext of expanding the "Japan-U.S. alliance."

It is a main strategy of Japan to turn itself into a military power and realize its military overseas expansion.

In case the military cooperation is boosted between Japan and the U.S. for the adoption of the above-said declaration and it is put into practice, this will spark off and escalate a new arms race in Asia and, furthermore, create a catastrophic situation including a nuclear war.

What should not be overlooked is that Japan is openly pushing ahead with the moves to adopt the said declaration under the pretext of the fictitious "military threat" from the DPRK. This reveals the long-standing hostile policy of the Japanese reactionaries toward the DPRK and a scenario to invade it in collusion with the U.S.

The adoption of such declaration would only bring Japan a horrible disaster and consequently, the Japanese reactionaries would not be able to escape the lot of a tiger moth, warns the news analyst.
