Chechangzi Telling about Devoted Efforts of Kim Jong Suk
Pyongyang, July 30 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine, left the Sandaowan guerrilla zone for Chechangzi guerrilla zone in the spring of Juche 24 (1935).

Then the people of Chechangzi were suffering from serious food shortage.

The Japanese imperialists launched "punitive" operations on a large scale in an attempt to put down the newly established Chechangzi guerilla zone and, at the same time, "sealed off" the zone to starve the people to death.

The food crisis got worse and worse with each passing day.

One day she brought together members of the Young Communist League and young people and said that they should sow seeds that spring at any cost and only then could they smash the vicious moves of the enemies to starve them to death and accomplish the revolution to the finish.

She earnestly called upon them to take part in the sowing team of the Young Communist League, adding that the farm work in the spring was a do-or-die battle for existence and revolution.

In response to her ardent call, all of them rose up and even those who could not move in starvation went out to the fields, carrying seed bags with them.

The heroine told them to the following effect: Though we go hungry and experience all hardships today, a rosy future is in store for us as we are making revolution under the leadership of General Kim Il Sung, the sun of the nation. Let's tell the people in the homeland like an old story about the hard life and struggle we have experienced in Chechangzi after the victory of the revolution and the liberation of the country.

The devoted struggle of Kim Jong Suk and the indomitable conviction that she implanted in the hearts of the Chechangzi people made them tide over the ordeals and difficulties.
