Anniversary of Korean People's War Victory Marked in Pakistan and France
Pyongyang, August 1 (KCNA) -- Seminars were held in Pakistan and France on July 21 and 22 to mark the 56th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Speeches were made at the seminars.

Mohammad Aslam Nagi, secretary general of the Lahore Branch of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association, said that the Korean people's victory in the war inspired the world people to national liberation struggle and, consequently, many more countries achieved their national independence.

The chairman of the National Workers' Party of Pakistan said that it was thanks to the keen perspicacity and wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung that the Korean people could defeat the U.S. imperialists in the war.

Jean Marie Lambret, chief of the French Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, urged the U.S. to draw due lesson from the defeat it suffered in Korea, saying that the Korean war gave the people a serious lesson that those who like aggression and war, violating justice and peace, would meet only death and defeat.

Messages of greetings to General Secretary Kim Jong Il were adopted at the seminars.

Meanwhile, the Communist Party of Sweden issued a statement on July 24 on the same occasion.

The statement stressed that the Korean War proved that it is quite possible to fight and defeat imperialism even if it is very strong.

The Communist Party of Sweden strongly opposes the nuclear monopoly system of the imperialists posing nuclear threat and attack to those countries that do not bow to their power, it declared, urging the U.S. to replace the Korean Armistice Agreement with a peace agreement as soon as possible.
