The research team of the university has succeeded in making a new chemical washing agent with natural mineral matters abundant in Korea. It prevents granite, marble and other processed stones, the finishing building materials, from being stained and makes it possible to raise their decorative effect.

Many years after the construction, the processed stones are discolored or rotten by rainwater, water dripping from the ceiling, dust and others. And they are stained with rust, water and oil.

The washing efficiency of the new agent is over 90 percent and the consumption of reagent is less than other ones. It never corrodes the materials and the spent liquor does not pollute the environment.

The university has also developed an inorganic agent to protect finishing construction materials. The agent prevents the infiltration of the deleterious materials and dust in the air into stone along with rainwater and increases the capacity of pollution prevention.

The new stone washing agent and protective agent profusely pay off in the units to which they have been applied.
