Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Meetings, news briefings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Britain, Switzerland and Indonesia on July 25 on the occasions of the 56th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and the 64th anniversary of liberation of Korea. Displayed in the venues of the events were photos on the immortal feats performed by the peerlessly great men and books and photos on the shining achievements made by the Korean people in building a thriving nation. At the events speeches were made by Harpal Brar, chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), Michael Chant, secretary of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain (Marxist-Leninist), Keith Bennet, deputy director-general of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, and others. The speakers said that the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was a brilliant fruition of the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and the heroic struggle of the army and people of the DPRK united close around him. The Korean people won a victory in the three-year war, making a great contribution to the world socialism and the peace and security in Asia and other parts of the world, they said, and went on: We strongly demand the U.S. immediately pull all its forces for aggression out of south Korea and extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people firmly defending socialism. Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, said the Songun politics pursued by General Secretary Kim Jong Il serves as an all-powerful treasured sword for firmly protecting the peace and security of Korea. He declared that the committee would join the world progressive people in intensifying the movement for supporting the Korean people's just struggle. Participants of the film shows watched such Korean films as "Korea Has Risen from the Ruins." Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events held in Britain and Switzerland. |
