Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Members of the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea held a speech meeting on the situation in the plaza of Phyongthaek Railway Station in Kyonggi Province on August 1, in which they called for turning out in the struggle to support the unionists of Ssangyong Motor Co. Contending that the blame for the Ssangyong Motor crisis is entirely on the present authorities and the business side, they called upon all citizens to fully support the unionists in the death-defying strike. The Confederation of Trade Unions, too, released a statement on August 2 urging the Lee Myung Bak "government" and the business side to retract all repressive measures against the unionists' strike and come out for the settlement of the crisis. Meanwhile, a signature campaign has been going on in the plaza of the station for several days to express support for the unionists in the strike. |
