Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- The "All-people Measure Committee for Checking the Project Aimed at Destroying Four Life-Giving Large Rivers and Protecting Them" made up of more than 450 civic and public organizations, four religious orders and opposition parties of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on August 4. It called for actions against the so-called "project to improve four large rivers" pushed forward by the conservative ruling forces.
The organization recalled that the above-said project unilaterally pushed forward by the "government" is sparking off protest among all the people.
It accused the authorities of pushing ahead with the project at high speed by spending a huge sum of money, ignoring the will of people.
The organization said that a people's fact-finding group was formed as a counter-measure, declaring the group would prove the injustice of the project through a fact-finding survey.
