Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- The "policy toward the north" pursued by the south Korean authorities is meeting bitterer rebuff and denunciation with each passing day. This means the bankruptcy of their policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen as it is characterized by treachery and anti-reunification acts. Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article. It goes on: The puppet ruling authorities' policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen is bound to go bust for its injustice. The above-said policy diametrically runs counter to national independence, the core issue in achieving the reunification of the country and settling the issues of the nation. How to approach the issue of national independence is a touchstone to distinguish a patriot from a traitor in the struggle for the country's reunification decisive of the destiny of the Koreans. No sooner had the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors come to power than he totally denied national independence, challenging the desire of the Koreans to solve the issue of national reunification by themselves and powerfully demonstrate their spirit of independence. The south Korean authorities' "policy toward the north" also diametrically runs counter to the development of the inter-Korean relations and the idea of "By our nation itself". Had the Lee group not adopted the policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen, the inter-Korean relations would not have reached such catastrophic phase where there is neither dialogue nor cooperation as now and more signal successes would have been made in the movement for national reunification. Their policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen is seriously jeopardizing the security of the compatriots and peace on the Korean Peninsula. The south Korean conservative ruling forces are now defaming the north-south joint declarations reflecting the Koreans' desire for peaceful reunification as "enemy-benefiting documents." Not content with this, they are crying out for declaring them "invalid" in a bid to frantically step up the moves to invade the north. The history has proven more than once that only miserable self-destruction awaits those traitors hell-bent on confrontation with fellow countrymen, backed by foreign forces. |
